The central theme of this profile of Moon Chae-won is a rounded face and a small mouth. We examine the visible contours and placement of the features in seven steps, starting with the overall face shape and ending with how its lines and surfaces fit together.
Step 1: Face Shape — The Outline of the Cheeks and Jaw
The width of the forehead and cheeks are round and become slightly narrower toward the chin. There are many soft curves in the overall outline.
Even within the large oval frame, the width of the cheekbones and chin are not the same. If you follow the speed from the widest part of the face down to the tip of the chin, you can see changes in the outline that are not revealed by length alone.
Step 2: Forehead — Between the Hairline and Brows
The center of the forehead looks wide between the partings. Thin hair creates a border on both sides.
You should look at the shape of the exposed part of the forehead and the hair on both sides. Since the parting and bangs are the lines that divide the upper margin, there is no need to immediately interpret the asymmetry seen in the photo as asymmetry of the forehead itself.
Step 3: Eyes — Eyelid Curves and Horizontal Length

The eyes have a round upper line and are long horizontally. The bright side around the pupil brings out the boundaries of the eye.
The shape of the eye can be better revealed by dividing it into the horizontal length and vertical opening. The curve of the upper eyelid, the lower border, and the area that tapers to the corner of the eye combine to form a single outline.
Step 4: Eyebrows — The Lines Above the Eyes
The eyebrows have low arches and are thin at the ends. A clear space remains between the eyebrows.
The low eyebrows can be compared side by side with the horizontal line of the eyes. Looking at where the eyebrows start and end and how thin they become at the ends reveals the relationship between the two overlapping lines at the top.
Step 5: Nose — The Central Line and Depth
The bridge of the nose is thin in the center, and the tip of the nose is round. The boundary between the nostrils and the tip of the nose is gentle.
The long bridge of the nose creates a central line that extends from between the eyes to above the lips. Comparing the narrow width of the bridge of the nose and the rounded surface of the tip, the parts that appear as lines and the parts that appear as surfaces can be distinguished within the same nose.
Step 6: Mouth and Chin — Expression and the Lower Face
Lips and Mouth Corners
The curve in the center of the upper lip appears small and the lower lip is thick. It is a closed mouth with the corners of the mouth slightly raised.
Jawline and Chin
The jawline is rounded rather than sharply bent. The small tip of the chin contrasts with the width of the cheeks.
In a closed mouth, the curve in the center of the upper lip and the curved surface of the lower lip can be examined separately. Comparing the horizontal width of the lips to the width of the tip of the chin reveals how small lines and large outlines are placed within the lower face.
Step 7: Overall Balance — A Rounded Face and a Small Mouth
The round surface remaining on Moon Chae-won's cheeks creates a difference in width from the tip of her small chin. If you look at the curves of the eyes and mouth along with the outlines, the details in the center of the face and the broad side of the cheeks are connected by curves of different sizes.
