Maya Face Reading: The Nose and Lower Face Beneath a Hat

At a glance

  • Face shape: The cheekbones and chin line are revealed at an angle close to the side.
  • Eyes: The eyes are narrowly opened under the dark stage lights.
  • Chin: The lower jaw narrows toward the tip of the chin and the border with the neck is revealed.

In July 2026, Maya continued her musical activities by sharing the news of her self-composed song “Fifty Spring”. This seven-step face reading explores Maya's facial contours and features in public photographs.

The central theme of this profile of Maya is the nose and lower face beneath a hat. We examine the visible contours and placement of the features in seven steps, starting with the overall face shape and ending with how its lines and surfaces fit together.

Step 1: Face Shape — The Outline of the Cheeks and Jaw

The lines of the cheekbones and chin are revealed at an angle close to the side. The width becomes narrower toward the bottom.

In this composition, the border from one cheek to the chin is clearly revealed rather than the width of both sides of the face. By connecting the outer line of the cheekbones and the bending point of the chin, you can distinguish between the width of the face and the depth of the sides.

Step 2: Forehead — Between the Hairline and Brows

The hat covers the forehead and hairline, obscuring the entire shape.

In this composition, the border of the upper face is not the hairline, but the edge of the hat. Therefore, the height or width of the entire forehead cannot be determined just by looking at the space above the eyebrows, and can be examined by focusing on the area exposed under the hat.

Step 3: Eyes — Eyelid Curves and Horizontal Length

Under the dark stage lights, the eyes are narrowly opened. The border of one eye can be seen better.

The shape of the eye can be better revealed by dividing it into the horizontal length and vertical opening. The curve of the upper eyelid, the lower border, and the area that tapers to the corner of the eye combine to form a single outline.

Step 4: Eyebrows — The Lines Above the Eyes

The full outline of the eyebrows is not clear due to the hat shadow and bangs.

The visible eyebrow pieces were not drawn to form the full eyebrow shape. If you look at the direction of the confirmed line and the gap between the eyes, you can distinguish between the border of hair or props and the actual eyebrows.

Step 5: Nose — The Central Line and Depth

The protrusion of the bridge and tip of the nose is distinguishable in lateral lighting.

From this angle, both the length of the bridge of the nose and the degree to which the tip of the nose is brought forward are visible. The line where the bright side meets the shadow is also affected by lighting, so you can see the boundary between light and dark and the actual outer outline.

Step 6: Mouth and Chin — Expression and the Lower Face

Lips and Mouth Corners

The moment you sing, your mouth is open and your upper teeth are visible.

Jawline and Chin

The lower jaw narrows toward the tip of the chin and the border with the neck is revealed.

The mouth in this scene is influenced by both vocalization and props. Only by examining the visible line of the lips and the outline of the chin can you distinguish the shape at the moment of mouth movement from the usual stationary shape.

Step 7: Overall Balance — The Nose and Lower Face Beneath a Hat

In Maya's photo, the nose and lower face exposed under the hat become the focus of observation. Considering the singing mouth and the stage lighting coming from one side, the protrusion and jawline on the sides are more evident than the width on the front.

Maya's Facial Features at a Glance

  • Face shape: The cheekbones and chin line are revealed at an angle close to the side.
  • Eyes: The eyes are narrowly opened under the dark stage lights.
  • Chin: The lower jaw narrows toward the tip of the chin and the border with the neck is revealed.

Together, these features show how the face's outer contour relates to the eyes and lower face. Looking at the connections between lines and surfaces helps explain the overall balance visible in this photograph.
