The central theme of this profile of Lee So-ra is a rounded outline in a singing profile. We examine the visible contours and placement of the features in seven steps, starting with the overall face shape and ending with how its lines and surfaces fit together.
Step 1: Face Shape — The Outline of the Cheeks and Jaw
The rounded outlines of the cheeks and chin are revealed at an angle close to the side.
In this composition, the border from one cheek to the chin is clearly revealed rather than the width of both sides of the face. By connecting the outer line of the cheekbones and the bending point of the chin, you can distinguish between the width of the face and the depth of the sides.
Step 2: Forehead — Between the Hairline and Brows
The hair is pulled back so that the forehead is open and the curved surface of the upper part is visible.
In compositions where the forehead is exposed, you can see a wide area extending from the hairline to the eyebrows. Comparing the direction of the upper curve and the lower eyebrows makes it clear what lines surround the upper part of the face.
Step 3: Eyes — Eyelid Curves and Horizontal Length

The eyes are closed at the moment of singing, so the folded lines of the eyelids are visible.
In closed eyes, the line where the upper and lower eyelids meet is more visible than the exposure of the pupil. Rather than estimating the size of your eyes when you open them, you can pay attention to how the curve of your eyelids lies between your nose and cheeks at this moment.
Step 4: Eyebrows — The Lines Above the Eyes
The eyebrows are gently curved and extend long over the eyes.
Eyebrows can be examined by distinguishing between the density of color and the curve of the line. By comparing the inner thickness and the direction of the outer edge with the eyelid line, you can see how the outline surrounding the eye is formed.
Step 5: Nose — The Central Line and Depth
From the side, the bridge of the nose and the round tip of the nose are visible.
From this angle, both the length of the bridge of the nose and the degree to which the tip of the nose is brought forward are visible. The line where the bright side meets the shadow is also affected by lighting, so you can see the boundary between light and dark and the actual outer outline.
Step 6: Mouth and Chin — Expression and the Lower Face
Lips and Mouth Corners
This is the moment to sing with your mouth narrowed. Mike covers part of her lips.
Jawline and Chin
The lower jaw is rounded and overlaps the border with the neck when the head is lowered.
The mouth in this scene is influenced by both vocalization and props. Only by examining the visible line of the lips and the outline of the chin can you distinguish the shape at the moment of mouth movement from the usual stationary shape.
Step 7: Overall Balance — A Rounded Outline in a Singing Profile
Lee So-ra's photo shows closed eyes and a singing mouth from the side. If you connect the protrusion of the forehead, nose, and chin, the side lines according to the angle of the head and vocal movements are more clearly revealed than when comparing the sizes from the front.

Together, these features show how the face's outer contour relates to the eyes and lower face. Looking at the connections between lines and surfaces helps explain the overall balance visible in this photograph.
