The central theme of this profile of Lee Na-young is a long oval face and a widening smile. We examine the visible contours and placement of the features in seven steps, starting with the overall face shape and ending with how its lines and surfaces fit together.
Step 1: Face Shape — The Outline of the Cheeks and Jaw
It is a long oval shape that narrows smoothly from cheek to chin. The tip of the chin is small and a round width remains around the cheekbones.
Even within the large oval frame, the width of the cheekbones and chin are not the same. If you follow the speed from the widest part of the face down to the tip of the chin, you can see changes in the outline that are not revealed by length alone.
Step 2: Forehead — Between the Hairline and Brows
The straight bangs cover the forehead. The gap between the tip of the bangs and the eyebrows is revealed more than the size of the forehead.
In compositions where the forehead is exposed, you can see a wide area extending from the hairline to the eyebrows. Comparing the direction of the upper curve and the lower eyebrows makes it clear what lines surround the upper part of the face.
Step 3: Eyes — Eyelid Curves and Horizontal Length

The eyes are horizontally long and the downward curve rises when smiling. The corners of the eyes gently narrow.
In photos with facial expressions, the vertical width of the eyes and the height of the cheeks below the eyes change. If you look at the curve of the lower eyelid rather than just looking at one point at the corner of the eye, you can read the movement of the center of the face more specifically.
Step 4: Eyebrows — The Lines Above the Eyes
Most of the eyebrows are hidden by the bangs. It is difficult to determine the length or thickness of invisible eyebrows with just a photo.
The visible eyebrow pieces were not drawn to form the full eyebrow shape. If you look at the direction of the confirmed line and the gap between the eyes, you can distinguish between the border of hair or props and the actual eyebrows.
Step 5: Nose — The Central Line and Depth
The thin bridge of the nose and the rounded tip of the nose are visible. The nose connects the center of the elongated face.
The long bridge of the nose creates a central line that extends from between the eyes to above the lips. Comparing the narrow width of the bridge of the nose and the rounded surface of the tip, the parts that appear as lines and the parts that appear as surfaces can be distinguished within the same nose.
Step 6: Mouth and Chin — Expression and the Lower Face
Lips and Mouth Corners
In a big smile, the upper teeth and the width of the mouth are revealed. The curve of the lips is connected to the movement of the cheeks on both sides.
Jawline and Chin
The jawline falls gently and gathers at the tip of the small chin. There are not many sharp angles in the lower profile.
When the mouth opens or the corners of the mouth rise, the width of the mouth and the space left up to the chin also change. If you look at the raised position of the cheeks and the tip of the chin together rather than just the lips, you can see the process by which a smile changes the ratio of the lower jaw.
Step 7: Overall Balance — A Long Oval Face and a Widening Smile
Lee Na-young's long oval shape contrasts with the widened mouth when she smiles. If you look at the cheeks that are raised below the eyes and the tip of the chin that is small, rather than the upper part covered by the bangs, the vertical outline and horizontal movement of the smile become clear.
