Lee Hyun-yi Face Reading: A Long Oval Face and Horizontal Eye Lines

At a glance

  • Face shape: The black and white profile released by Esteem shows a long oval shape narrowing from the side of the cheekbones to the lower jaw.
  • Eyes: The front-facing eyes are long and horizontal.
  • Chin: The jawline gradually narrows below the cheekbones and converges at the rounded tip of the chin.

The central theme of this profile of Lee Hyun-yi is a long oval face and horizontal eye lines. We examine the visible contours and placement of the features in seven steps, starting with the overall face shape and ending with how its lines and surfaces fit together.

Step 1: Face Shape — The Outline of the Cheeks and Jaw

In the black and white profile released by ESteem, a long oval shape is visible next to the cheekbones and narrows to the lower jaw. The end line of the short-cut hair and the border of the chin are aligned.

Even within the large oval frame, the width of the cheekbones and chin are not the same. If you follow the speed from the widest part of the face down to the tip of the chin, you can see changes in the outline that are not revealed by length alone.

Step 2: Forehead — Between the Hairline and Brows

The center and part of the sides of the forehead are exposed through the parting. A few strands of hair fall from the face, across the forehead and around the eyes.

You should look at the shape of the exposed part of the forehead and the hair on both sides. Since the parting and bangs are the lines that divide the upper margin, there is no need to immediately interpret the asymmetry seen in the photo as asymmetry of the forehead itself.

Step 3: Eyes — Eyelid Curves and Horizontal Length

The eyes facing forward are long and horizontal. The upper eyelid is gently curved and its width decreases towards the outside.

The shape of the eye can be better revealed by dividing it into the horizontal length and vertical opening. The curve of the upper eyelid, the lower border, and the area that tapers to the corner of the eye combine to form a single outline.

Step 4: Eyebrows — The Lines Above the Eyes

Eyebrows start out relatively thick on the inside and become thinner on the outside. In some sections, hair and shadows overlap.

The visible eyebrow pieces were not drawn to form the full eyebrow shape. If you look at the direction of the confirmed line and the gap between the eyes, you can distinguish between the border of hair or props and the actual eyebrows.

Step 5: Nose — The Central Line and Depth

The vertical line on the bridge of the nose runs long from between the eyes to the tip of the nose. The round surface of the tip of the nose and the width of the nostrils on both sides are distinguished by black and white.

The long bridge of the nose creates a central line that extends from between the eyes to above the lips. Comparing the narrow width of the bridge of the nose and the rounded surface of the tip, the parts that appear as lines and the parts that appear as surfaces can be distinguished within the same nose.

Step 6: Mouth and Chin — Expression and the Lower Face

Lips and Mouth Corners

The lips are closed and a small curve is visible in the center of the upper lip. The lower lip continues into a gentle curve.

Jawline and Chin

The jawline gradually narrows below the cheekbones and converges at the rounded tip of the chin. The neck is exposed, making it easy to distinguish the outline of the lower face.

In a closed mouth, the curve in the center of the upper lip and the curved surface of the lower lip can be examined separately. Comparing the horizontal width of the lips to the width of the tip of the chin reveals how small lines and large outlines are placed within the lower face.

Step 7: Overall Balance — A Long Oval Face and Horizontal Eye Lines

Esteem's black-and-white profile shows the connection of the long face outline, horizontal eyes, and jawline narrowing downward. Since the shadow on one side of the face and the hair crossing the face are filming conditions, they should be examined separately from the asymmetry of the face itself.

Lee Hyun-yi's Facial Features at a Glance

  • Face shape: The black and white profile released by Esteem shows a long oval shape narrowing from the side of the cheekbones to the lower jaw.
  • Eyes: The front-facing eyes are long and horizontal.
  • Chin: The jawline gradually narrows below the cheekbones and converges at the rounded tip of the chin.

Together, these features show how the face's outer contour relates to the eyes and lower face. Looking at the connections between lines and surfaces helps explain the overall balance visible in this photograph.
