The central theme of this profile of Kim Yong-man is raised cheeks and round glasses. We examine the visible contours and placement of the features in seven steps, starting with the overall face shape and ending with how its lines and surfaces fit together.
Step 1: Face Shape — The Outline of the Cheeks and Jaw
The official profile of the Moongchin Project is a full-length photo of the person sitting on a chair and smiling. The cheek area of the face becomes rounded and the width decreases as it goes down to the lower jaw.
Even within the large oval frame, the width of the cheekbones and chin are not the same. If you follow the speed from the widest part of the face down to the tip of the chin, you can see changes in the outline that are not revealed by length alone.
Step 2: Forehead — Between the Hairline and Brows
The center of the forehead is exposed under the short hair. You can distinguish the exposure range of the forehead by dividing the hair volume and the actual hairline.
In compositions where the forehead is exposed, you can see a wide area extending from the hairline to the eyebrows. Comparing the direction of the upper curve and the lower eyebrows makes it clear what lines surround the upper part of the face.
Step 3: Eyes — Eyelid Curves and Horizontal Length

The vertical width of the eyes is narrowed due to laughter inside the round glasses frame. Because it is a full body composition, it is difficult to see even the small eyelid lines.
The circles or straight lines on the glasses frame overlap the actual outline of the eyes. You can examine the horizontal direction of the eye by following only the exposed eyelids and outer corners of the eyes, excluding the frames, but it is difficult to measure the size beyond the lens in precise proportions.
Step 4: Eyebrows — The Lines Above the Eyes
The eyebrows are placed close to the frame of the glasses, and part of them overlaps the frame. In the perspective photo, the exact thickness or end angle of the line is not clear.
The visible eyebrow pieces were not drawn to form the full eyebrow shape. If you look at the direction of the confirmed line and the gap between the eyes, you can distinguish between the border of hair or props and the actual eyebrows.
Step 5: Nose — The Central Line and Depth
The tip of the nose and both nostrils are exposed beneath the glasses. The top of the bridge of the nose overlaps with the glasses, making it difficult to see the outline of the entire nose at once.
The shape of the center is revealed only when the line of the prop overlapped on the nose is differentiated from the actual bridge of the nose. In this composition, the part where the uncovered tip of the nose connects to the nasal tip shows the width of the lower part of the nose.
Step 6: Mouth and Chin — Expression and the Lower Face
Lips and Mouth Corners
When you smile, your mouth opens, your upper teeth are exposed, and the corners of your mouth rise to the sides. Movement of the cheeks and horizontal expansion of the mouth are seen together.
Jawline and Chin
The tip of the chin is rounded and lies below the cheeks that are raised with a smile. The tilted posture of the body and head affects the angle of the lower jaw on the screen.
When the mouth opens or the corners of the mouth rise, the width of the mouth and the space left up to the chin also change. If you look at the raised position of the cheeks and the tip of the chin together rather than just the lips, you can see the process by which a smile changes the ratio of the lower jaw.
Step 7: Overall Balance — Raised Cheeks and Round Glasses
The key to the official profile is the connection between the cheeks raised in a smile, the eyes narrowed, and the mouth opened to both sides. Since the face is captured in a full-body photo, we focus on the large movements of the facial expression rather than the detailed proportions.
