The central theme of this profile of Jeon No-min is a long face and an open forehead. We examine the visible contours and placement of the features in seven steps, starting with the overall face shape and ending with how its lines and surfaces fit together.
Step 1: Face Shape — The Outline of the Cheeks and Jaw
The face is long and gradually narrows from the cheekbones to the chin. An outline turned sideways is visible.
In this composition, the border from one cheek to the chin is clearly revealed rather than the width of both sides of the face. By connecting the outer line of the cheekbones and the bending point of the chin, you can distinguish between the width of the face and the depth of the sides.
Step 2: Forehead — Between the Hairline and Brows
Short hair exposes the forehead and hairline.
In compositions where the forehead is exposed, you can see a wide area extending from the hairline to the eyebrows. Comparing the direction of the upper curve and the lower eyebrows makes it clear what lines surround the upper part of the face.
Step 3: Eyes — Eyelid Curves and Horizontal Length

The gaze is turned to the side and horizontal lines of the eyes are visible. Due to the distance, details of the eyelids are limited.
What can be seen in this photo is the large direction and arrangement around the eyes. Rather than zooming in to determine the small double eyelid line or the exact angle of the corner of the eye, it is better to look at the horizontal area that the eyes occupy within the face.
Step 4: Eyebrows — The Lines Above the Eyes
Dark eyebrows lie relatively low over the eyes.
The low eyebrows can be compared side by side with the horizontal line of the eyes. Looking at where the eyebrows start and end and how thin they become at the ends reveals the relationship between the two overlapping lines at the top.
Step 5: Nose — The Central Line and Depth
From the side, the length of the bridge of the nose and the protrusion of the tip of the nose are revealed.
From this angle, both the length of the bridge of the nose and the degree to which the tip of the nose is brought forward are visible. The line where the bright side meets the shadow is also affected by lighting, so you can see the boundary between light and dark and the actual outer outline.
Step 6: Mouth and Chin — Expression and the Lower Face
Lips and Mouth Corners
Horizontal lines of the closed mouth are visible, and the corners of the mouth are slightly raised.
Jawline and Chin
The lower face is long and a round width remains at the tip of the chin.
In a closed mouth, the curve in the center of the upper lip and the curved surface of the lower lip can be examined separately. Comparing the horizontal width of the lips to the width of the tip of the chin reveals how small lines and large outlines are placed within the lower face.
Step 7: Overall Balance — A Long Face and an Open Forehead
In Jeon No-min's long face, the vertical line of the nose and the border of the lower jaw are connected. If you look at the horizontal direction of the eyebrows and eyes together, you can see how the upper and lower widths remain within the length of the face.
