The central theme of this profile of Choi Kang-hee is rounded cheeks and a short lower face. We examine the visible contours and placement of the features in seven steps, starting with the overall face shape and ending with how its lines and surfaces fit together.
Step 1: Face Shape — The Outline of the Cheeks and Jaw
The cheeks have a rounded surface and are connected to the tip of the chin, which is short.
Even within the large oval frame, the width of the cheekbones and chin are not the same. If you follow the speed from the widest part of the face down to the tip of the chin, you can see changes in the outline that are not revealed by length alone.
Step 2: Forehead — Between the Hairline and Brows
Thin bangs cover most of the forehead, leaving a small gap.
The end line of the bangs creates a new border on the upper part of the face. By distinguishing between the exposed space above the eyebrows and the space covered by the hair, you can avoid confusing the size of the forehead itself with the blank space created by the hairstyle.
Step 3: Eyes — Eyelid Curves and Horizontal Length

The eyes are long horizontally and the downward curve rises as the smile approaches.
In photos with facial expressions, the vertical width of the eyes and the height of the cheeks below the eyes change. If you look at the curve of the lower eyelid rather than just looking at one point at the corner of the eye, you can read the movement of the center of the face more specifically.
Step 4: Eyebrows — The Lines Above the Eyes
The eyebrows are hidden by the bangs and only some low lines are visible.
The visible eyebrow pieces were not drawn to form the full eyebrow shape. If you look at the direction of the confirmed line and the gap between the eyes, you can distinguish between the border of hair or props and the actual eyebrows.
Step 5: Nose — The Central Line and Depth
The bridge of the nose is thin and the tip of the nose is small and round.
The long bridge of the nose creates a central line that extends from between the eyes to above the lips. Comparing the narrow width of the bridge of the nose and the rounded surface of the tip, the parts that appear as lines and the parts that appear as surfaces can be distinguished within the same nose.
Step 6: Mouth and Chin — Expression and the Lower Face
Lips and Mouth Corners
The width of the smiling mouth widens and the upper teeth become visible.
Jawline and Chin
The lower jaw is small and round and connects smoothly with the cheek.
When the mouth opens or the corners of the mouth rise, the width of the mouth and the space left up to the chin also change. If you look at the raised position of the cheeks and the tip of the chin together rather than just the lips, you can see the process by which a smile changes the ratio of the lower jaw.
Step 7: Overall Balance — Rounded Cheeks and a Short Lower Face
Choi Kang-hee's face is worth looking at for the relationship between the curves of the eyes and the tip of the small chin. The eyes and mouth are placed within a width that decreases from the cheek to the lower face, and the central details and the outer outline are connected by curves of different sizes.
